1. What is Matcha?
The word Matcha comes from Japanese: "ma" means ground, while "cha" means real tea of the highest quality. Matcha is a powdered tea obtained from the green tea plant. The process of producing Matcha is as follows, before harvesting, the plant is covered for at least 3 to 4 weeks so that it grows in the shade and thus preserves chlorophyll, then only the smallest leaves of the first harvest (ceremonial Matcha) are picked, the stems and veins are removed, and they are steam-dried and later manually ground in stone mills. The same process is used to obtain premium Matcha, except that it is a different brew and the leaves are a little larger. All premium Matcha comes exclusively from Japan. The best from the Kyoto-Uji region, where ours is from. All Zen Oasis Matcha comes directly from Japan and is freshly ground on the fly. Zen oasis Matcha also has all quality certificates (you can see them in the certificates tab) and is 100% organic. Zen Oasis Matcha is of premium quality and therefore not bitter!
2. Why is Matcha good?
Because it is rich in antioxidants, which are extremely important for the healthy functioning of the body. Because it detoxifies and cleanses the body. Because it has a positive effect on brain functions. Because it strengthens the immune system and supports metabolism. Because it has a positive effect on our health.
Yes, Matcha contains caffeine, but unlike coffee, this caffeine affects the body differently. The caffeine from Matcha works from the digestive tract and thus does not cause the problems that many people experience when drinking coffee.
4. What is the difference between Premium and Ceremonial Matcha?
Both Premium and Ceremonial belong to the very top of quality. Ceremonial is the first bira, the freshest, smallest leaves. Ceremonial Matcha is drunk by the Japanese at their tea ceremonies, and due to its very rich taste and superior quality, it is drunk on its own without any additives. Premium Matcha also belongs to the very top, but Matcha is of a different type and is therefore ideal for those who like Matcha lattes, as it has a more delicate taste. Not one of them is bitter. Premium Matcha is never bitter!
5. Do I need a complete set with a whisk if I want to drink real Matcha?
It is definitely best to buy the whole set, because the whisk lasts at least 1 year and it makes the preparation of Matcha really easier, and above all, Matcha is better if it is mixed with a real bamboo whisk.
